Kim Picard
Youth Coordinator

Kuei! Kuei!

My name is Kim Picard. I was born to an Innu mother and an Algonquin/Mohawk father, and grew up in the Innu community of Betsiamites. In January, 2005, I was hired as the new youth coordinator at Quebec Native Women. Prior to my arrival here, I worked as a fashion designer for a few years. Through my participation in various QNW activities, I developed a desire to become more involved. As a mother, I am concerned about the future of Aboriginal youth in Quebec.

Youth Coordinator Functions

QNW has had a youth coordinator since January 2003 to advocate on behalf of all young Aboriginal women in Quebec. She coordinates their collaborative efforts to defend their common interests. Her role is accordingly that of representative to voice the needs, concerns and opinions of young Aboriginal women at the regional, provincial and national levels.
